EmployIndy, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that guides the local workforce system of Marion County, Indiana. In its role as the federally-defined Workforce Development Board for Marion County, it serves as operator of the county’s one-stop system, including WorkOne Indy. EmployIndy also serves as an intermediary for education, employment, and workforce development initiatives within Central Indiana, convening partners within the community to align resources, strategies, and activities designed to remove barriers to quality employment for underserved and underrepresented residents.
Since 1983, EmployIndy has administered hundreds of millions of dollars in federal, state, local, and private funds to support workforce development initiatives for diverse populations.
Mission: To guide the local workforce ecosystem and make strategic investments to remove barriers to quality employment for Marion County residents, promoting equity in the process.
Vision: All Marion County residents have access to services and training necessary to secure a livable wage and grow in a career that meets employer demand for talent.
Good Wages Initiative
The Good Wages Initiative certifies, celebrates, and showcases Marion County employers committed to providing full-time employees both a wage of at least $18/hr and access to health insurance benefits.

Indy Achieves
Indy Achieves is Mayor Joe Hogsett’s response to Indianapolis’ rapidly changing labor market by ensure that every Indianapolis resident has the ability to pursue and complete a postsecondary credential or degree program, and empowering residents to pursue careers that put them on a pathway to the middle class.
EmployIndy operates Indy Achieves with the dual focus of increasing the number of K-12 students who pursue and complete postsecondary credentials and increasing the educational attainment level of the existing adult population, while ensuring more intentional pathways into high-demand careers.
Job Ready Indy
Employers can train individuals how to do a job, but need employees with soft skills who can show up ready to work. There is often an unmet need for these soft skills that enable workers to get hired and advance in their career.
Job Ready Indy (JRI) content was born out of this need. Participants learn and develop core employability skills that apply to any industry—allowing workers to advance their professional portfolios and employers to hire participants with confidence.
Modern Apprenticeship Program (MAP)
The Modern Apprenticeship Program (MAP) provides a pathway for companies of all sizes across in-demand industries to achieve their unique employment goals. It is a three-year program designed to prepare Central Indiana high school students for the workforce with paid, hands-on experience that complements their traditional coursework. Apprentices start in their junior year and pursue jobs in growing fields such as business, advanced manufacturing, and information technology (IT). Afterward, they can continue on to a college degree or jump right into the workforce.
Talent Bound – Work-Based Learning Hub
At a time when employers report an increasing mismatch between the skills required for their industry and those of the emerging workforce, the State of Indiana has sought to address this issue by including work-based learning as a graduation requirement for high school students. Talent Bound is EmployIndy’s vehicle to provide the students in Marion County access to authentic career-connected learning experiences, leveraging EmployIndy’s network of engaged businesses to provide engaging activities that increase informed decision making and develop critical skills needed to succeed in the future of work.

EmployIndy is the hub for businesses seeking qualified workers by addressing systematic barriers for both employers and job seekers. EmployIndy partners with businesses to connect the with skilled candidates they need immediately as well as helping to build a pipeline of future talent that will support the long-term growth of their business.
EmployIndy’s team of recruiters can pre-screen and recommend job ready candidates who fit the current needs of organizations, connect employers to resources and training for upskilling current workers, and help businesses become a top competitor for talent withing their industry.
YES Indy
Originally known as Youth Employment Services, YES Indy has empowered over 6,000 low-income, out-of-school Marion County residents since 2003 through barrier-busting support (such as vouchers for child care, legal assistance, housing, or transportation), career services, and connection to education, training, and job opportunities. Acting as a guide and intermediary, EmployIndy utilizes its network of local community organizations as the purveyors of YES Indy services. We further support these partners by providing technical assistance, evidence-based best practices, and professional development opportunities through our workforce Ecosystem Enrichment programming.
YES Indy providers include: CAFE, Edna Martin Christian Center, Fathers & Families, Hawthorne Community Center, Keys to Work, Martindale Brightwood CDC, Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, and PACE Indy.
